Friends and comrades,Our monthly meeting is this evening, 6:30–8pm, in the basement of Seward Park Library (192 E Broadway). We’ll be discussing upcoming events, recent developments concerning the Two Bridges megatowers, and a potential zine collaboration documenting the demolition of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Detention Complexes. Speaking of which, we want to make sure that you’re aware of the Borough-Based Liberation Project, which is hosting programming related to struggles for liberation in NYC and beyond throughout the month of September. The full event list can be viewed here; there will be a teach-in about resisting the borough-based jails plan this Wednesday.

On Saturday, September 21 (11am–7pm), come find us at the NYC Anarchist Book Fair at La Plaza Community Garden (E 9th St & Ave C)! We'll be selling zines and ephemera by AAD members and friends, with proceeds supporting the Coalition to Protect Chinatown & LES and mutual aid efforts in Gaza.

On Sunday, September 29, at 11am, join the Coalition to Protect Chinatown & LES in front of the Sing Tao Daily’s headquarters (188 Lafayette St), to protest the newspaper's anti-Black, pro-developer coverage. Given that Sing Tao is the #1 source of news for Chinese immigrants, it should be held accountable for its disingenuous reporting.

Also on Sunday, September 29, from 2 to 6pm, join us at the third annual Abolition Block Party at Brower Park (Brooklyn Ave & Prospect Pl)! This year’s event will focus on continuing our work for abolition in the face of various challenges such as the election, multiple cop cities, and the ongoing genocide. There will also be free food, live performances, music, and more. Participating organizations include Survived & Punished NY, Critical Resistance NYC, Recess Art, Project LETS, and Black & Pink NYC.
