This month we will be discussing an upcoming march against displacement, open call for artwork, our recent Montez Press segment, East River Park, commercial rent stabilization and more...

Our general meeting are the second Tuesday of every month. All are welcome!

The first tree of 991 trees has been removed at East River Park! Hundreds rallied to help save East River Park this past Saturday, Sept. 11th. The park's amphitheater was rebuilt by the city and dedicated to the children whose parents died on 9/11. Supporters were there to preserve that history and save mature trees and their park.

The push for Commercial Rent Stabilization continues this Friday, Sept. 17th at 10am with a hearing at City Hall. Please come to testify if you own a small business or know any that are struggling at this time. Too many important neighborhood places across NYC are closing due to rent increases. New York City Council is considering a rule to limit rent increases for commercial spaces, like we have for housing. Commercial rent would become predictable and no longer double unfairly. This would result in fewer speculative evictions that would stop displacement.
