Happy November! In lieu of our usual monthly meeting tonight, we will be attending a special screening of “A Home Worth Fighting For,” which follows NYCHA public housing residents as they fight against the proposed demolition of the Fulton & Elliott-Chelsea Houses. The 7pm screening, which will take place at 235 W 23rd St, will be followed by a panel discussion with tenant organizers from Fulton & Elliot-Chelsea.Elderly residents of the Chelsea Addition are facing imminent eviction under the redevelopment plan, and we were proud to donate some of our recent tabling proceeds to their legal defense fund (please contribute if you’re able)!

We encourage you to support your local food distro, whether by donating, volunteering on the ground, or driving (if you have a car).Special shoutout to Friend of a Friend, which distributes food and supplies every Sunday afternoon and Tuesday evening in Chinatown’s Columbus Park, and Brooklyn Jail Support, which operates in Downtown Brooklyn every Friday, from 2pm to 2am.
