Last Thursday, members and allies of the Coalition to Protect Chinatown & LES, including AAD, protested the annual gala of the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA). Community members have been picketing MOCA several times a week for the past three years for its complicity in local displacement and the planned Chinatown megajail.In response to calls to boycott MOCA, comedian Jimmy O. Yang and actor BD Wong withdrew from the gala programming, and State Senator John Liu declined to enter the gala venue.
