This Wednesday at 11am, join home care workers in front of Governor Hochul’s NYC office (919 3rd Ave) to protest her decision to award a multibillion-dollar contract to the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC), which continues to assign inhumane 24-hour shifts.By not holding CPC accountable to state labor laws, Hochul emboldens CPC to extend its racist violence beyond the workplace — as we saw on February 27, when it deployed police to arrest elderly home attendants picketing its annual gala.

City Council is collecting written testimonies concerning the Chinatown megajail as part of its Committee on Criminal Justice’s recent FY26 Preliminary Budget Hearing. Welcome to Chinatown testified at the hearing and has provided an email template for community members to voice their objections to the $3.8 billion jail.Submit your testimony by 3pm on Wednesday, March 12, for it to be considered!

The Coalition to Protect Chinatown & LES recently surveyed more than 100 local businesses and found that the vast majority oppose congestion pricing and have experienced economic hardship as a result.Based on these findings, the Coalition is calling for:
An immediate repeal of congestion pricing
Implementation of policies to stop displacement, including the construction of low-income housing, and the passage of the Chinatown Working Group Plan to protect the neighborhood from further displacement
