Friendly reminder that our monthly meeting is this evening, 6:30–8pm, in the basement of Seward Park Library (192 E Broadway). We’ll be discussing a Palestine fundraising action at Sunday’s Lunar New Year parade, an upcoming walkthrough of Alex Strada’s Collective Mobilities at Pratt, and more!

This Sunday (2/16), join members of AAD, Angry Asian Womxn, and CAO Collective at a Palestine fundraising action at Chinatown’s Lunar New Year parade. We’ll be distributing postcards featuring artwork by Gaza-based artist Kholoud Hammad, bilingual “know your rights” cards printed by Shoestring Press, oranges, and N95 masks, and collecting donations for the Sameer Project to assist displaced families in Gaza. To help out with the action, simply fill out this form!To support the action, you can also order a pack of 50 postcards for $10; any leftover proceeds will be donated to Kholoud’s family and Olive Gaza Bytes.

Last week, local organizers launched the NYC Cultural Institution Index, an autonomous initiative to collectively source and rigorously fact-check the political stance of cultural institutions towards Palestine. View the index here and submit new entries here!

On Thursday, February 27, join Youth Against Sweatshops in picketing the Chinese-American Planning Council’s annual gala at Cipriani Wall Street. While most home care agencies in NYC have split 24-hour shifts into two 12-hour shifts, CPC continues to force home health aides to work 24-hour shifts, paying them for only 13 hours of work. Demand that CPC return its workers’ stolen wages!
