Welcome the year of the dragon with wishes of prosperity for our community! When MOCA took $35 million as a part of a deal to build a new jail in Chinatown, they not only allowed the City to pretend to have support for the jail - they also deprived Chinatown of real investment! We maintain this picket line to show our neighborhood is resilient. We won't be bought off! We won't allow our futures to be filled with prisons and controlled by spoiled luxury developers. Our picket demands the $35 million go back to the community that needs it, that the City stop their brutal plan for a new jail, and that Chinatown & the LES are protected as affordable neighborhoods for working people through passing the Chinatown Working Group Plan.
