It's day 2 of the NADA Flea! We will be selling items donated by our membership and raffling off a rose (see below how to enter). Also join us for AAD's monthly meeting this Tuesday and check out an updated list of items requested for recently arrived asylum seekers below.
NADA Flea
We will be tabling at the NADA Flea today to
to fight the luxury towers planned for the Two Bridges waterfront. This is the latest in a 5+ year fight against a Hudson Yards-like luxury development that will inevitably result in the displacement of many long term residents and transform our historically rich, working class and multicultural neighborhood into another playground for the ultra-rich.

February AAD Meeting
We will be meeting this Tuesday, February 14th at the Seward Park Library Branch located at 192 E Broadway, New York, NY 10002. Once you enter the library, head for the staircase leading downstairs in the back and we will be in the room across from the stairs. The meeting will be from 6:00 - 8:00pm.

Donations for Asylum SeekersCouncilmember Chris Marte's office is seeking donations for asylum seekers who have recently arrived to our neighborhood. See the flier below for an updated list of requested items. Items should be new or lightly used. If lightly used, please make sure they are clean.Note: High need items include socks, teen clothing, diapers and formula. Drop items off at Marte's office at 65 East Broadway, weekdays 10am-6pm.

Lease Rose
is one of an edition of 12 roses folded from the four semi-formal leases that Canal Street Research Association has had in spaces ranging from vacant storefronts to empty office buildings. In the intimate and often fraught relationship between tenant and property owner, these are cheeky valentines to the landlord — an unreliable, gaslighting lover.
Folded by Nothing Man, a Canal Street artisan who can often be found sitting in front of Bing Lee’s “Empress Voyage” ceramic tiles in the Canal Street Subway Station, playing harmonica and thinking up song lyrics while folding brightly colored paper into roses for sale.
Lease Rose
was part of Çanal Street Researçh Assoçiation, Canal Street Research Association’s experimental retail enterprise and exhibited as part of “The Eviction Show” curated by Georgia McGovern in 2022.
