Just a friendly reminder that our August monthly meeting is this evening, 6:30–8pm, in the basement of the Seward Park Library (192 East Broadway).Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table at the Carriage Trade Book Fair at the beginning of August! We had a great time tabling with our neighbors, Research and Destroy and Citygroup, and other wonderful folks. We’re taking things more slowly for the remainder of the summer, and will be back at it next month for the NYC Anarchist Book Fair (more details to come).
Today, more than 90 home care workers are traveling to Albany to demand that Attorney General Letitia James investigate the collusion between the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) and NYS Department of Labor, which dropped all wage theft cases against the CPC and other home care agencies after Jenny Low, CPC’s former board president, was appointed to Governor Kathy Hochul’s Executive Chamber.You can chip in to the workers’ travel expenses here.

As some of you may know, Lower Manhattan’s beloved Elizabeth Street Garden faces imminent demolition to make way for the construction of affordable housing for seniors.
