on the ballot, we need to collect hundreds of signatures from our neighbors (City Council District 1) in a short period of time. Please fill out

SAVE EAST RIVER PARK
Submit your poster designs in support of the fight to SAVE EAST RIVER PARK!
We will print and poster your submissions all across the Lower East Side and Chinatown to spread the word. Posters should be 8.5in. x 11in. or 11in. x 17in. and max 10mb jpg files.

Despite years of community engagement, the city unexpectedly scrapped the Community Flood Protection Plan in favor of the East Side Coastal Resiliency project. The City’s new plan calls for the demolition of the entire park and killing 1,000 trees. The City’s plan costs $1.45 Billion and offers no interim flood protection over the course of the demolition and construction. Similarly, the plan claims to provide “long-term” flood protection, but this protection from rising sea levels will last just 30 years.
The demolition will decrease air quality and raise toxic dust directly affecting the health and quality of life of the park’s nearest neighbors in NYCHA housing and communities across the Lower East Side.
